Important
Good preparation
Read about how abortion with the abortion pill works and what to expect on our website. In the section Information you will find all the information, read especially about how to use the abortion pill or what to do if your pharmacy does not deliver. There you will also find links to other pages that provide reliable information on abortion.
Send ultrasound results?
An ultrasound is far from always necessary, read there here more on.
You can send us the report on the ultrasound in two ways:
- You had your never registered with us. In that case, go to the general registration form, you can send the report as an attachment.
- You had your already registered with us. In that case, you will use the application form ultrasound results.
You can upload the report there.
Opening hours
Thuisabortus.nl is an outpatient clinic open from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. We are closed at weekends and on public holidays.
This means that we process applications and respond to queries during the day. If you require essential care during the evening, night, or at the weekend, you can use the out-of-hours GP service. Read here in which (rare) cases you can call on them. All GP services know what to do to give you the care you need, it is regular GP care as they give it when you have a miscarriage.
What we don't do?
A personal consultation with someone from our team does not take place with everyone, the application form replaces the consultation. Only if we have questions based on the application form will we contact you by e-mail, possibly followed by telephone contact if you wish. We also do not offer help in case of doubt and do not provide personal aftercare. In principle, this is a job for your GP. However, we do help you find that help.
If you feel comfortable talking to a professional about your choice or need more (after)care, you can contact an abortion clinic, GP or the FIOM.
How will it continue after that?
Whether you received the abortion pill through us, the abortion clinic or your GP, we advise everyone to take a pregnancy test after 4 weeks, regardless of the amount of blood loss. After 3 weeks is also allowed, but if the pregnancy is visible on the test then it does not say anything. Repeat the test at 4 weeks. If it is still positive, contact the abortion clinic or GP.
For contraception or a post-abortion discussion, you can contact your GP.
