This can <em>up to 9 weeks<\/em> pregnancy. <br>Applying for and using the abortion pill at home online is legal and safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What do we offer?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We give online <a href=\"https:\/\/thuisabortus.nl\/en\/informatie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Information\">information<\/a> and if necessary you can ask us additional <a href=\"https:\/\/thuisabortus.nl\/en\/contact\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Contact\">questions<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Through our website, you then fill in a <a href=\"https:\/\/thuisabortus.nl\/en\/een-recept-voor-de-abortuspil\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Recipe\">application form<\/a> we will assess it within 48 hours (not including weekends). We may contact you first if we have any questions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We will then send the prescription to your pharmacy, and you will always receive a message from us plus additional information. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After you collect the medication, you can take it at home.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"border-top-left-radius:22px;border-top-right-radius:22px;border-bottom-left-radius:22px;border-bottom-right-radius:22px;background-color:#f6cfb7;padding-top:0;padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--medium);padding-bottom:0;padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--medium);font-size:14px\">Scientific <a href=\"https:\/\/pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/articles\/PMC12135146\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">research<\/a> among more than 130,000 unintended pregnancies shows that online abortion services are as effective and safe as visiting a doctor. The American <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acog.org\/news\/news-releases\/2026\/02\/acog-leads-coalition-15-medical-organizations-amicus-brief-supporting-safety-mifepristone\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">gynaecology association<\/a> has established that the abortion pill is as safe as a common painkiller. <br>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/publications\/i\/item\/WHO-SRH-22.1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">WHO<\/a> advises that the abortion pill be made available to pregnant women as easily as possible up to 12 weeks, and possibly without medical intervention. In the Netherlands, this has been reduced to 9 weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background has-x-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"border-top-left-radius:22px;border-top-right-radius:22px;border-bottom-left-radius:22px;border-bottom-right-radius:22px;background-color:#f6cfb7;padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--medium);padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--medium)\">Since the end of March 2026, approximately 75 pregnant women have been using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/safety\/go\/?url=http%3A%2F%2FThuisabortus%2Enl&amp;urlhash=fjja&amp;mt=0dDufBtYAq8gXC-X4qidzBtf8wXZDpsRGbJCzSNJ59niK5fPx7fq0cJNN2P4NoJXOpWM2uGjiwFYYsb7sjIlcKCOFUaNbv4vipFL-HlQcAt6wXde8wQRra_-&amp;isSdui=true\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Home abortion.nl<\/a>. We're doing this together, you're not alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Do you need a consultation or personal support with your unwanted pregnancy? Then our online service is less suitable. In that case, visit your GP, Fiom, or an abortion clinic. <br>Even if your GP does not prescribe the abortion pill, counselling in the event of an unwanted pregnancy falls under regular GP care, e.g. a consultation if you have doubts or want information about the pros and cons of methods to terminate the pregnancy. Even if you have (rare) complications if you take the abortion pill through us, you can visit your GP, including in the evenings and at weekends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Want to go to a <a href=\"https:\/\/sense.info\/nl\/zwanger\/zwanger-en-dan\/abortusklinieken\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">abortion clinic<\/a> then you don't need a referral for that. If you are more than 9 weeks pregnant, go to an abortion clinic anyway. Your pregnancy must then be stopped by suction. You can also choose to stop a pregnancy before 9 weeks by suction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Costs?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The care we provide (information, consultation and prescription) is <em>none<\/em> costs are incurred if you live or work in the Netherlands and have Dutch health insurance. The costs are paid by the government and are not borne by your health insurance. You also pay <em>not<\/em> to the pharmacy or the sonographer.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you do not have Dutch health insurance, we advise you to first check if you might be covered by European health insurance, as abortion care for international students can sometimes be reimbursed at regular clinics. For example, you could contact the Epione clinic in Amsterdam to explore this possibility. If that is not possible, there are also organisations that can support you.
