We are a group of doctors who provide online abortion care. We can prescribe the abortion pill up to 9 weeks pregnant.
You can order the abortion pill online and use it at home. This is legal and safe. The consumer TV programme Till made a lovely broadcast about us.

What do we offer?

• On our website you can find information about the abortion pill and abortion. Do you have any further questions after that? Then you can contact us.
• Do you want to apply for the abortion pill? Then fill out the application form in. A doctor will review your application within 48 hours, but not at the weekend. This will be followed by a mandatory short telephone call. We will never call you without permission.
• If the doctor approves your request, we will send the prescription to your pharmacy. You will always receive a message from us with more information.
• You collect the medicines from the pharmacy. After that, you can use the abortion pill at home.

Scientific research among more than 130,000 women with an unwanted pregnancy shows that online help with an abortion works just as well and is just as safe as a visit to a doctor. The American Association of Gynaecologists states that the abortion pill is very safe. According to this association, the risks are comparable to those of ordinary painkillers.
The World Health Organization (WHO) advises making the abortion pill available as easily as possible up to 12 weeks of pregnancy. According to the WHO, if safe and appropriate, this can also be done without having to visit a doctor first. In the Netherlands, the limit for using the abortion pill is 9 weeks of pregnancy.

Fancy a chat or personal help?

Would you like to talk to someone about your unwanted pregnancy? Or do you need personal guidance? Then our online care might be less suitable for you. In that case, you can visit your GP, Fiom or an abortion clinic. However, you can register with us after a consultation with a GP or Fiom.

Even if your GP does not prescribe the abortion pill, you can still go to your GP with questions about an unwanted pregnancy. This is part of standard general practice care. For example, you can request an appointment if you are having doubts or if you want to know more about the different ways to terminate a pregnancy.
Want to go to a abortion clinic then you don't need a referral for that. Are you longer then 9 weeks pregnant, go to an abortion clinic anyway. Your pregnancy must then be terminated by means of suction. But even if you flat and you are 9 weeks pregnant you can choose the suction method, read the information.

If you use the abortion pill through us and still experience a complication, please call or email us during the day on working days. You can also contact your GP or the out-of-hours GP service.

What are the costs?

Our care is free if you live or work in the Netherlands and have Dutch health insurance.
You pay nothing for the information, the online consultation and the prescription. The government covers these costs. Therefore, they are not deducted from your own health insurance.
You don't have to either nothing to be paid at the pharmacy or for an ultrasound.

Don't you have Dutch healthcare insurance?

Don't you have Dutch health insurance? If not, check first whether you have European health insurance that covers the costs of abortion care. For international students, abortion care can sometimes be covered at a regular abortion clinic.
For example, you can contact the Epione clinic in Amsterdam to ask if you are eligible for this.
Can't you do this? Then there are also organisations that can help you. You can contact Abortion Network Amsterdam. Do you live in Amsterdam? Then you can also contact Doctors of the World (Médecins du Monde). They can often help you further.
